Good morning, and welcome to my little world of flowers!
I thought I’d start of my blogs with a little bit about me and where Fiore Dorato came from. I will be adding blogs on to the website on a regular basis with hints and tips on how to get the most from your flowers to ideas for all the occasions in your life. Maybe some things we see on our travels and random things for good measure as a mummy to two little girls my life is full of giggles and glitter amongst some other not so fun stuff!
Well you may ask who are Fiore Dorato? Unfortunately we are not an extravagant Italian in a little studio down a cobbled road. (That is the notion a lot of my brides conjure) We are a family run and operated business in the heart of West Lancashire, pretty much in the middle of Liverpool, Manchester and Preston. This is perfect for weddings and events, as we love to travel for work and pleasure. As im writing this I am sat in the garden on this glorious sunny Sunday morning in the brief hour before my Hubby to be and little girls wake up. This is when I get a lot of my admin work completed sitting next to the lavender plants and looking over the fields listening to the bumble bees buzzing and the wood pigeons cooing away, it’s a little piece of heaven only disturbed by the hound joining the conversation occasionally which I don’t mind really.
You will find our concept for working is simple, mother nature does all the hard work for us so why should we over complicate things? I don’t. I love more than anything watching the changes in the seasons and my favorite flowers change like most florists do. The short but beautiful Peoney season is coming to an end and most of my deliveries over the last month have incorporated them. Now we will be including Sunflowers and Dahilas both of which remind me of happy times in my childhood. But my all-time favorite is the humble daisy. Sure she looks simple at a glance just white and yellow speks dancing in the fields or by the duck pond. But take a closer look next time you get a chance, the texture on her petals and the perfect little pollen spot for your bees to land is a perfect design and one little flower that’s often overlooked as weed or wildflower growing on the side of the roads. The seasonal change is one of the reasons we work the way we do with our next day seasonal bouquet’s which are perfect for any occasion. We know you want to send something unique and beautiful to your loved one for many reasons. But ordering flowers online has become so regimented with a lot of the big national florists stating what flowers you are going to receive. Where is the element of surprise or fun in that? So we do it a little differently, a little simpler for the best gift ever. You just pick the size and leave a note we do the rest and deliver you something truly special with the freshest flowers available on the day. And working this way your flowers will last even longer too so it’s a win win.
I also despise plastic packaging, so I don’t use it in our packaging. We use paper, glass vases and tins all of which are widely recycled. Where we do have to use plastic for events we try to reuse them as much as we can.
The next few blogs that I will be writing will include more hints and tips and styles for weddings, one of our consultations that sort of thing.
With lots of pictures and exciting features so watch this space.
